Twitter starts testing Professional Profiles, here’s what it is – Times of India
As per the company, Professional Profiles will allow anyone who uses Twitter for work — such as businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators — to display specific information about their business directly on their profile.
In a screenshot for its own Twitter Business profile page, the company shows that it will roll out a new design with more information such as address and contact info alongside the main profile name.
Twitter will first test the Professional Profiles feature with a small pool of businesses in the US and will be rolling out the same to more such accounts in the coming months, said the company in a tweet.

This Professional Profile feature could be a step in the direction of creating more revenue-generating methods for the company. It is possible that Twitter may roll out exclusive features for paid business profiles as part of Professional Profiles.
Back in February, a report by Bloomberg had suggested that a number of Twitter teams are researching subscription offerings such as Ad-free feed, Tweetdeck, exclusive content, higher-quality video, Twitter verification badge, Twitter Analytics, Profile customisation support.
“Increasing revenue durability is our top company objective. You will see us continue to research and experiment with ways to further diversify our revenue beyond ads in 2021 and beyond,” Bruce Falck, Revenue Product Lead, had said in a statement to TechCrunch at the time.
“These may include subscriptions and other approaches that will give people and businesses of all sizes on Twitter access to unique features and enhanced opportunities for content creation, discovery, and engagement,” he added.
