Telegram: Telegram working on two new web apps: Report – Times of India
User privacy-focussed cloud-based instant messaging platform Telegram is looking to improve its presence on the web by working on two new apps, as per a report by DroidMaze. The two apps — Telegram WebK and Telegram WebZ — are already available on the Telegram website.
The apps come with features like chat folders, support for stickers, search and other new options. However, they lack some of the important features required for regions that may be going into lockdown mode again because of the COVID-19 virus: video and voice calls.
The report says that both the apps are being developed by different developers. It could be the case that only one app gets chosen to be the one main app.
In an earlier report by TestingCatalog, Telegram has added the ability to schedule voice chats in channels. The feature is available as part of the beta update that brings Telegram version v7.7.0. It is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming future.
With this new feature, Channel admins will be able to schedule a voice chat. The report also shares steps on how to schedule a voice chat in Telegram channels. In order to do so, admins will have to first tap on the Channel icon and the three-dot settings menu on the top-left. When it opens, they can then select the “Start Voice Chat” and should look for the “Schedule Voice Chat” option and tap on it. Users can pick a time and date as per the choice and then tap on the button at the bottom to schedule the voice chat.
