This is how the OnePlus phone that didn’t launch may have looked like – Times of India
New renders shared by leakster Max Jambor claim to show how the alleged budget OnePlus phone that never happened actually looked like. The SE version of the Nord was reportedly being developed in collaboration with visual artist Joshua Vides. He has previously worked with OnePlus’ sister company Oppo and luxury fashion brands like Fendi.

“On the front there is an AMOLED display with a dual punch hole camera near the upper left corner and on the back you can see a recess for the quad camera and the LED flash. The pictures show that the Nord SE would have both a specially made background image and a cover in the corresponding design. It is not known whether the glass back of the smartphone has such a design or just the case,” says Jambor in a report in Allround-pc website describing the renders. OnePlus is said to have opted for a “comic style” for the design of the smartphone and the packaging.
Specifications suggest powerful version of OnePlus Nord
From the specifications reported, OnePlus SE is said to be a more powerful version of the current-generation of OnePlus Nord. The phone was expected to offer 12GB/256GB configuration and run on faster processor from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 780G, and sport 65watt fast charging. The OnePlus Nord Special Edition would have reportedly priced at 499 euros (Rs 43,000 approximately).
The current-generation OnePlus Nord has 6.44 inch 90Hz AMOLED screen and runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip. For photos, there is quad-camera array (48MP main shooter + 8MP ultrawide sensor + 5MP depth module + 2MP macro unit), and a 4,115mAh battery with 30W charging. It comes in 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants.
Why was OnePlus Nord SE ‘axed’
There has never been any official confirmation of the OnePlus Nord SE smartphone from the company. However, a report in phonearena claims that OnePlus was apparently ready to go with Nord SE, but may have later decided to shelve it as Nord 2 is not too far off. OnePlus launched the first-generation of OnePlus Nord in July 2020 in India, one of the company’s biggest markets.
